GLIS passes a resolution regarding geospatial data privacy
That on this the 1st day of May, 2013, it is the sense of GLIS that imagery and geospatial data collection, usage and application is a valued part of the modern American economy; is broadly applied to improve the analyses and decisions necessary to sustain and enhance the quality of life; is not synonymous with “precise geolocation data” as such term is used by the Federal Trade Commission and in legislative proposals; and functions in a manner that does not threaten the privacy of individual citizens.
